Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst - Personnel Cost will serve as a key member of the Finance team ensuring the accurate and integral reporting of financial statements of Gucci North America to worldwide headquarters, as well as departmental stakeholders and external/internal auditors. The main function of this role will be to support budgeting and reporting activities, with a focus on, but not limited to, store personnel cost control, balance sheet and cash flow.
Key Accountabilities
- Support for the projection and analysis of store and corporate Fixed and Variable personnel cost;
- Monitor financial performance, highlight trends across key performance indicators and analyze any substantial variances to understand the underlying causes;
- Participate in the budget/forecast process for personnel cost;
- Maintain and develop custom monthly reporting to be shared directly with budget holders;
- Analyze complex financial information and provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes;
- Maintain a rolling projection model for budgeting purposes at the cost center/expense line/account level to be used in the bi-annual budget/forecast processes;
- Process month-end journal entries for the assigned cost centers;
- Work with Human Resources and Payroll Service providers to gather data and confirm on payroll costs;
- Work on month-end close, analyzing, reconciling and accruing expenses, preparing reporting weekly and monthly to be dispatched to senior management;
- Provide data and/or sampling requests for internal and external auditors;
- Special projects as assigned; prepare executive level presentations and ad hoc reporting;
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for major accounts and update it monthly;
- Work on different components of Variable Personnel costs in terms of Actual Calculation, Projections for Budgets and Forecast Processes.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- 3-5 years working experience;
- Experience in retail accounting a plus;
- Eager to learn, dedicated, diligent, highly organized, and reliable;
- Knowledge of SAP preferred;
- Familiarity with expense reconciliations and analysis as well as experience with budgeting processes and month end closing;
- Strong Excel and computer skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary and longer hours during month-end closes;
- Can work autonomous and without direct supervision;
- Teamwork skills a must.
