That’s why we’ve been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle, San Francisco & Paris. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States - any of our offices, or remotely from home. It’s about impact, not location.


The Product FP&A team is looking for a high performing people manager who can develop the financial model and business case for new product concepts. We are looking for someone to join our team who can conceptualize the business model for a product and leverage historical and forward-looking data to accurately forecast the potential for future products. The ideal candidate will be capable of both driving analysis on their own and managing a senior financial analyst performing similar work.

  

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with product management, hardware and software leaders and our Go To Market team to develop, stress test and strengthen the business cases for new products
  • Present the business case and financial model for proposed new products to executive leaders and their teams
  • Develop financial models to assess market opportunities and generate insights on product development initiatives
  • Help shape Sonos’ product roadmap by developing prioritization frameworks and stewarding key performance indicators to guide decision making
  • Drive for increased fidelity in new product forecasts thru analysis of Sonos historical performance and an understanding of future market trends
  • Own revenue and gross profit forecasting for annual company-wide LRP and quarterly product roadmap update processes, including coordination with product development team and communication to executive leaders.
  • Manage an analyst and help facilitate their growth, development and impact on Sonos

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or similar field
  • 8+ year of progressive experience working in FP&A, business development, strategic Finance or similar fields
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling and analysis skills, including the ability to summarize large amounts of data and to use data tables and/or scenario management tools to assess different potential paths forward
  • Experience partnering with internal employees representing a wide array of functions
  • Experience managing and motivating employees and fostering their growth and development

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings across a wide range of employee functions and levels, including company executives
  • Experience working in or supporting a product development organization
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to focus on continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs), SAP, Anaplan, Tableau and other forecasting and data visualization tools
  • High integrity, self-aware, humble, low ego
