Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is a key member of the finance organization, providing analytical support for leadership of key functional areas within SpaceX. This position involves establishing and maintaining working relationships with business partners, and supporting management with analysis and reporting to help support and accelerate rapid growth in our global Starlink broadband business.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify resource requirements for Starlink business groups, including headcount, capital, and operating expenses necessary to scale a global business
  • Work with production and engineering teams to identify production and operational KPIs and analyze performance against productivity targets
  • Implement processes to ensure that production unit costs for Starlink hardware is tracked accurately and efficiently
  • Partner with Starlink business unit leaders to prepare financial analysis to help inform optimal operational decision making
  • Work closely with supply chain to ensure that financial obligations are tracked and committed appropriately as we scale for rapid growth
  • Partner with FP&A to support financial projection analysis and preparation
  • Partner with accounting for financial close analysis and group level reporting
  • Provide insight on spending variances and department level reporting to business partners
  • Coordinate capital expenditure tracking and related cash forecasts for the Starlink business
  • Provide financial analysis and support to our international expansion initiatives


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in the finance function, with responsibilities in forecasting, analysis, and reporting


Preferred Skills And Experience:

  • Experience of working in finance organizations of fast-moving entrepreneurial Telecom companies
  • MBA from top-tier business school
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) programming
  • Advanced Excel financial modelling skills


Additional Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret or TS/SCI. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.
