Finance Manager

Vox Media is seeking a Finance Manager, Editorial Brands for its corporate finance team. You will play a key role in the budgeting and forecasting process for all editorial brands and be responsible for a variety of financial duties surrounding analysis and providing financial insights. The Manager is expected to establish themselves as a strong business partner to leaders throughout the organization

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop a detailed understanding of key financial and operational metrics, supporting with analyses to propel Company growth and efficiency
• Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and monthly financial forecasting, providing guidance on investment strategy
• Act as key liaison with department heads to build bottoms-up and forecasts, and establish and track key performance indicators
• Manage variance analyses: clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting forecast models to reflect changes in the business
• Identify and implement various financial process improvements
• Support on ad-hoc analyses to assist with investment decisions including content ROI, pricing and new business investments

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related field
• 4-8 years of relevant work experience in financial modeling and/or relevant analytical roles
• Excellent analytical & technical skills: sophisticated Excel skills and experience in Adaptive are a huge plus
• Exceptional attention to detail, with an ability to organize and self-manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to think creatively and strategically while performing tactical analysis
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain business partner relationships at all levels within the organization
• Embraces working in a highly collaborative environment
• Extremely curious and analytical mindset; not satisfied with easy or convenient answers
