Finance Manager
We are hiring a Finance Manager to join Kraft Heinz’s Venture Capital team- a high-profile role within the organization and industry. We are an ambitious and thoughtful team with a very flat structure- and exposure to some of the best operators and investors in the industry. Kraft Heinz’s venture strategy is primarily a fund of funds approach. We invest in premier food and Agriculture Technology (AgTech) funds throughout the world and create synergies between these funds- their start-ups- and the Kraft Heinz ecosystem. This individual will also have the opportunity to identify and work with start-ups that are at the forefront of changing the future of food and the food industry with select co-investing opportunities. This is a startup-like opportunity within an established organization where you get to be a part of a young and hungry team looking to help make Kraft Heinz the leading name in entrepreneurship within the CPG industry.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Internal Engagement – Work closely with functional leaders and C-suite execs across the Kraft Heinz organization to unearth opportunities and spark innovation in alignment with corporate goals and strategic initiatives
- Plan and execute bi-annual innovation weeks at Kraft Heinz corporate HQ in Chicago to bring innovative start-ups in front of various Kraft Heinz teams
- Identify new fund opportunities as well as the private investing landscape for co-investment opportunities
- Compile and analyze sector trends. The ideal candidate should be excited about venture capital and direct investing and interested in how Kraft Heinz and early-stage start-ups can work together
- Manage LP Commitments and interface with General Partners
- Financial Diligence- Modeling and Team Support – Associate will be responsible to develop financial models- investment committee materials and general fund support
- Portfolio Support — help manage Evolv Venture’s portfolio of 9 early-stage start-ups including assisting companies with strategic / financial analysis- working to build community amongst companies- and leading portfolio reporting and analyses
- This position can be fully remote with some travel required to Kraft Heinz HQ in Chicago- IL and to various industry conferences and events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required- MBA or Advanced Degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience with rigorous financial- market and strategic analysis- preferably as an analyst or associate who has completed a robust training program at a top tier investment bank or management consulting firm. Experience as an LP or working on fund of funds preferred
- Advanced written- oral- and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence tailored to interacting with entrepreneurs- partners and corporate leaders
- Advanced financial modeling and slide presentation preparation abilities
- Deep sense of ownership over one’s work and results
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment- and with limited management and oversight
- Passion for food and AgTech- CPG- sustainability- or venture capital essential
