Finance Manager

Atlanta, GA

To provide consolidated financial planning, performance reporting, and analysis that supports corporate decisions of the CFO, CEO, and the Board of Directors. To ensure the company establishes and meets financial plans along various fiscal horizons, including period, quarter, annual, and long-term to help achieve its strategic goals. Provides the financial and analytical decision-making support, along with the necessary business partnership, for restaurant operational and Shared Services initiatives, restaurant margin improvement initiatives, and capital investment opportunities. Engages Finance leadership (Sr. Director FP&A, VP of FP&A) and continually informs them of the business performance trends, risks and opportunities, as well as recommendations to achieve the operational performance of the company in accordance with the financial plans. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide financial performance reporting, including actual to budget, forecast to budget, and actual to prior year for the consolidated company monthly, quarterly, and annually, as well as at functional and cost center level where required.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budgeting process, including strategic planning decisions and initiative prioritization. Provide wider Finance organization guidance on planning process to ensure assumptions are as accurate as possible and all deadlines are efficiently met in accordance with corporate deadlines.
  • Lead the long-range planning process, coordinating with business leaders to develop 5-year plans, including pro-forma financial statements and valuation analyses.
  • Work closely with Treasury team to actively manage cash and provide cash forecasting.
  • Prepare presentations related to financial results and plans for the Board as well as internal leadership.
  • Provide financial analysis support for Inspire Brands M&A decisions and as needed, brand-level portfolio management transactions. Maintain models used to assess viability of strategic initiatives and predict future outcomes. Support analytics, documentation, and marketing activities related to M&A and capital structure transactions.
  • Develop, evolve, and publish regular KPI/metrics reporting to track results and identify trends
  • Own and socialize financial reporting calendar to ensure wider finance teams and organization are aligned on finance deliverables
  • Create deep understanding and working knowledge of Inspire financial systems, data sources/uses and reports to continually improve and enhance business insights. 
  • Ensure raw data used in reporting, analysis, and planning is accurate and complete.
  • Support ERP and adjacent financial system implementations
  • Direct, create, and review the preparation of ad hoc analyses aimed at improving company performance, profitability and return on investment.
  • Ensure FP&A processes, as well as planning assumptions, are documented appropriately and improved upon to drive efficiency.
  • Work closely with adjacent finance teams to ensure efficient and enhanced planning and analysis work outputs.
  • Build a high-caliber team properly aligned with the growth of the business.
  • Direct the daily activities and the career development of team members.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: 4 year degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and / or CPA. 


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: 4-6 years supervisory experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis
  • Preferred: 3+ years of FP&A experience in a global matrixed organization


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES

  • Understanding and working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, including DCF, ROI, IRR, NPV, Breakeven and Payback Periods
  • Understanding and working knowledge of firm valuation techniques, including DCF and EV multiples approaches
  • Experience with multi-year, three-statement financial models, including integrated capital structure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex analytical topics to a wide audience who may or may not be familiar with analytics or the subject matter.
  • Ability to build financial models to support forecasting, business analysis, and financial metric reporting.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and both quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and to provide recommendations for optimal solutions.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and a desire to identify and utilize data sources.
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of working with various financial systems (Oracle Cloud, Hyperion, etc.) and performing a range of financial analyses
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Word
  • Preferred: Relational database experience
  • Preferred: Experience with Enterprise software including planning software
