Additional Information:

This role will observe the 3-day hybrid office model and be based in Austin, TX.


Responsibilities

  • Telling the Story: Communicate with WFM Executive leadership and Amazon peers to convey financial plans, present commentary on bridged items, and provide recommendations.
  • Financial Planning Execution: Drive the execution of annual planning, forecast guidance, and long-range planning modeling and deliverables to understand gaps, recommend solutions, and align WFM Executive Team and Amazon.
  • Process Improvement: Identification of business process improvements to support financial planning, including partnering with peer groups to develop, test and implement solutions, as well as drive year-over-year gains with a focus on long-term growth, scale, and simplification.
  • Ensure Accuracy and Integrity of Financial Plans: Dive deep to ensure modelling and load accuracy in coordinating forecast updates with internal and external business partners and challenge assumptions when necessary.
  • Consolidated P&L Management: Manages consolidation & input of topside and planning contingency initiatives.
  • Communication: Communicate financial analysis in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner both verbally and in writing (written documents and/or PowerPoint) to executive leadership.
  • Drive Evolution: Lead and/or participate in cross functional projects as needed with a focus on process improvement and increased efficiency with the ability to document and transition final product.
  • Financial Analysis: Develop actionable, informed financial insights/models to assist executive decision-makers throughout the company (this includes sales, margins, income conversion, leverage, EBITDA, ROIC, etc.).
  • Share Subject Matter Expertise: Willingness and ability to train financial disciplines, specifically as they relate to financial reporting and analysis at WFM.
  • Drive Planning Processes: Strong organizational skills for managing forecast calendars including dates, deliverables, communication timelines for finance partners and senior leadership reviews.
  • Challenge the Status Quo: Build relationships with Senior Leadership where you can comfortably challenging assumptions and plans to drive dialogue and informed decision-making.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Provide ad-hoc analysis and other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, Finance or Accounting (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of financial analysis experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Possess superb knowledge and understanding of financial systems, financial planning and analysis, and accounting principles.
  • Planning/Forecasting experience is a strong plus, preferably experience in a dynamic, scenario driven rolling forecast environment with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Retail operations experience a plus
  • Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present information in different forums and with all/multiple levels of leadership.
  • Positive attitude, ability to work well and fast under pressure, exceptional customer service attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed, as well as be a team player.
  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in Enterprise Performance solutions –Workday Financials, Adaptive Insights, Power BI a plus.
  • Knowledge of Whole Foods Market principles and core values.
