Finance Director

Redmond, WA

Finance is at the center of making this vision a reality. This role supports the Xbox Cloud Game Streaming (“Project xCloud”) business as we seek to innovate, disrupt, and expand the gaming opportunity worldwide. In this role, you will focus on driving long term planning, business model support and strategic investment analysis, while engaging in extensive cross group collaboration across a wide set of stakeholders including engineering, marketing, business development and other finance teams including central finance and Azure Cloud Services. You will partner with the Xbox Cloud Game Streaming team to drive growth and expand our total addressable market to the billions of gamers around the world. As the leader of the game streaming finance team, you will need to recruit, develop, and retain a high performing finance team to achieve these goals. Responsibilities

  • Role model: exemplify a growth mindset and what it takes to be a key driver of the business
  • Accelerate: Drive success for key partners within Xbox and externally for our partners
  • Financial Reporting: Partner with the engineering teams to model out the long-term financial plan for game streaming, including monetization, SKU planning, infrastructure deployment & utilization, and cost to serve
  • Rhythm of Business: Support the RoB processes by participating in forecasting, target setting and budgeting in alignment with Corporate and EDM timelines.
  • Capacity Planning: Partner with the capacity planning team to ensure alignment with latest deployment plans and corresponding COGS impact
  • Financial Acumen: Manage process excellence and compliance governance in leading game streaming offers to market across Finance and business stakeholders, including the Finance Readiness Framework, establishing engagement with Commercial VL operations, and Business Desk, and develop reporting insights across deal economics and efficiencies of transactions
  • Insight & Analytics: Help design and develop regular revenue and key performance indicators reviews, develop quarterly forecast and target, and support business reviews
  • Partnership: Be an integral part of the Azure/Cloud finance and engineering partnership that is essential to game streaming success
  • Collaborative: Build strong relationships with key partnerships across Game Pass, Azure, finance, marketing, corporate strategy, and business development.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office – with advanced Excel skills & extensive experience using multiple formulas and pivot tables with strong ability to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Demonstrated experience in a consumer tech and/or interactive media & entertainment business focused on developing and driving cross-company strategy
  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences
  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast moving environment while conforming to tight deadlines
  • Propensity to learn and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Must have the ability to manage across organizational boundaries, influence others and build on the work of others
  • Proven ability to partner, build trust, communicate with and influence senior executives; ability to make the complex simple and influence through effective story telling
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, exercise sound business judgment and show strong sense of certainty by standing firm where appropriate
  • Strong verbal & written communication, interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills
