Where We Need You:

We are seeking an External Communications Manager, Accolades and Awards, to join Protiviti. Protiviti is a hybrid work environment, and we offer flexibility within our teams. What You Can Expect:

As Protiviti’s External Communications Manager, you will manage and grow its extensive Accolades & Awards program, which includes international, national, regional, and individual nominations and ‘Best Places to Work’ surveys.


You will use your experience working cross-functionally and geographically to enhance the accolades and awards efforts as a strategic program. You will be comfortable partnering with stakeholders at levels, especially senior leadership, to advance a thoughtful program that helps raise brand awareness and engenders employee participation and pride. You will have related experiences to draw upon that can inform the program’s evolution. You must be able to balance managing the accolades program while handling additional external communications responsibilities. You will be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and inspired environment.


Additional responsibilities include external communications projects, including (but not limited to) providing public relations support, maintaining content on our corporate website and associated external related webpages, and arranging photos shoots for corporate headshots in coordination with the creative team and other images for promotional use. This role reports to the Public Relations Director.


What You Will Be Doing:

Accolades and Awards Strategy

  • Evaluate the firm’s existing program, make recommendations and any adjustments necessary to ensure Protiviti has a global program that remains strategic and laser-focused on relevant results
  • Understand and collaborate with parent company Robert Half on its accolade strategy and ESG reporting; coordinate on appropriate enterprise communications   


Accolades and Awards Operations

  • Identify and recommend suitable accolade opportunities for Protiviti, including recognition for company culture, DEI, employee programs, social responsibility efforts, individual subject-matter experts, and various consulting practices 
  • Collaborate with HR/Recruiting, DEI, market and practice leaders to gather information for accolades submissions and nominations
  • Write, edit and submit content to ensure the firm is well-represented; manage large datasets or accolades submissions
  • Maintain a master list of all accolade applications, key dates and relevant information
  • Maintain a robust process for reviewing, approvals, submitting and tracking accolade applications within required deadlines; communicate results to stakeholders
  • Manage the announcement process including proactive planning by providing content and relevant materials (banners, digital ads, signature pickers, etc.) to our creative, internal communications and social media teams that appropriately support the promotion of wins
  • Coordinate the purchase of accolade logos and manage usage requirements  
  • Respond to media requests for further information related to accolades
  • Communicate and coordinate details of awards events and promotional opportunities to award stakeholders
  • Document all related processes and procedures to ensure proper governance, business continuity and coordination
  • Regularly attend iCare quarterly calls, DEI events and other internal calls/events to stay informed about new company CSR/ESG initiatives for potential accolade submission content
  • Provide budget estimates corresponding to the annual plan; manage and track all related expenses


External Communications Operations

  • Draft press releases and media alerts for accolade wins and other content as needed by PR Director
  • Edit and proofread for PR Director and Communications team as needed
  • Report on accolades program status and success
  • Gather information and submit applications for local market Business Journal industry lists (e.g., Top Management Consulting Firms lists)
  • Maintain the About Us, Recognition, Executive Leadership, Locations and Social Responsibility web pages of Protiviti.com
  • Maintain Protiviti profile pages on Glassdoor/Indeed, Great Place to Work, and similar external websites
  • Arrange photo shoots for employee headshots and other publicity requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date maps and company information (fact sheet, The Protiviti Story) for company intranet, proposal center and online Newsroom
  • Other communication tasks as needed


What Will Help You Be Successful:

  • Prior experience leading and managing an accolades and awards program in a complex business environment (corporate, agency, professional services firm) will be important
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, with demonstrated experience in creating both concise and long-format narratives that are compelling and engaging, familiar with AP Style
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen attention to detail
  • You are a relationship builder with interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and across geographies
  • You demonstrate a high degree of initiative and experience with managing multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • You are curious, creative and possess a growth mindset to resolve challenges in a considerate way
  • Ability to travel to meetings and conferences as appropriate


Your Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Degree-level education, preferably in communications, marketing, English, journalism.
  • Experience collaborating closely with leaders to inform, develop, and report on strategic, brand-building programs
  • Experience developing creative, effective approaches to nuanced communications challenges
  • Experience in brand / corporate communications or public relations (in-house or agency) will be helpful
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams familiarity with PowerBI helpful


For NYC offices, the anticipated salary range is $89,900 to $140,000 with placement in the range depending on skills, experience and work location.
