Expense Analyst

Columbus, OH

The Expense Analyst is responsible for the reporting, analyzing, and managing of the purchase card and out of pocket expense programs. This person interacts daily with employees at all levels to ensure compliance with governmental law and company policies and to identify cost saving opportunities.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and prepares monthly management reporting and analysis of corporate purchase card and out of pocket employee expense
  • Detects and reports expense and compliance trends
  • Uses data analysis to control cost and improve compliance
  • Strong knowledge of company guidelines and government policies, which ensures the Company remains compliant with internal and external controls
  • Ensures compliance with IRS expense requirements including adequate business purpose and appropriate receipts
  • Reviews and recommends purchase card and expense policy updates to improve efficiency, service and compliance
  • Ensures cardholders and approvers complete monthly responsibilities timely and accurately; escalates and resolves issues effectively
  • Ensure all personal expenses are reimbursed timely and is not repetitive
  • Performs audit of officer expenses and coordinates with tax team on taxability reporting
  • Provides excellent level of training and customer service
  • Identifies and reports employee perkable expenses to the payroll tax department timely
  • Audits expense reports based upon company policies; able to take corrective action independently
  • Performs the full day-to-day administrative functions as needed
  • Performs various month end duties, and additional duties as assigned

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or an equivalent in education and experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be detail oriented with strong follow through
  • Excellent PC skills including excel (pivots and vlookups skills required)
  • Must be able to work independently and also in collaborative team environment that fosters new ideas, efficiency and cost savings
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines, deliverables, multiple priorities and proactive follow up with customers
  • Strong project management skills for audits, program updates and department initiatives
  • Proven ability to prepare and present analysis and management reports
  • 1-3 years related experience
