Executive Producer

WTVR, the E.W. Scripps CBS station in Richmond, VA is hiring an Executive Producer for our show Virginia This Morning. In this role you will manage local programs, including oversight on story selection, content, and production.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Manage local program content and showcasing across multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, and commercial production staff in distributing stories.
• Develop and manage effective workflow strategies and procedures for multiple programs.
• Manage pre-production to ensure quality and ethical standards and coordination between control room and design staff.
• Flexible work hours may be required, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
• Generally, 8+- years of experience in related field preferred
• Generally, 5+ years previous producing experience preferred
• Prior managerial experience preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Knowledge and demonstration of engagement of local programming with the marketplace
• Ability to create tactics and strategies to innovate messaging as it relates to a local Lifestyle show
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws impacting operations
