Executive Producer

Remote (United States)

Vox is a user’s guide to the news produced by the reporters and subject issue experts who know it best and Today, Explained – our flagship radio show and podcast – is an audio expression of that mission: a daily news explainer that is both relentlessly reported and ground-breaking in its sonics and storytelling.

We’re looking for a leader who can work closely with our team to continue expanding the show’s ambition and creativity, to develop original reporting and series, and to manage a complex production process which includes both a podcast and a daily radio broadcast.

More broadly, the EP of this show will also be responsible, alongside the hosts, for charting the course for the show’s future: from special projects to brand expansion across a range of platforms. You’ll work closely with leadership to assess the show’s vision and mission, refresh and strengthen programming, and implement plans for ongoing improvement, audience growth and overall business goals.

To that end, the right candidate for this role will be a strong leader with sharp news sensibility, impeccable editorial judgment, and the ability to manage a complex, fast-paced production process. You will be an experienced manager who excels at fostering a creative, joyous team culture while also ensuring the highest standards for journalism and production. You should be equally at home vetting story pitches/weighing in on an edit AND attending meetings with internal and external partners to lead Today, Explained’s expansion.

Vox values thinkers, creatives, and obsessives from all backgrounds. We are looking to hire the right person — not the right résumé. We encourage those with diverse and nontraditional experience to apply.
