Executive Director, Media Relations
To continue to drive positive and accurate storytelling around ELC’s performance and achievements, particularly across earned media within financial publications and outlets, the executive director will work closely with both the EVP of GCGPA, SVP of Integrated Communications, as well as Investor Relations. This role will have deep relationships and contacts across reputable, global financial and business outlets; drive proactive and reaction earned media tactics, drive talking points and messaging for ELC and key leaders; manage media around quarterly earnings; identify speaking opportunities at key financial media conferences and events; pitch story ideas and narratives that support our corporate strategy; and, react to and respond to incoming inquiries from media on behalf of ELC’s financial performance. Other responsibilities include cultivating and managing relationships with media contacts via frequent engagement, media roundtables, desk sides; positioning company leaders as subject matter experts; organizing media briefings and engagements; and facilitating media training and coaching. Experience ideally in the 8-10 year range; previous experience in the consumer space or journalist/media industry; highly effective communicator, storyteller and creative writer; strong financial acumen and executive presence.
Qualifications
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote - can work on both a PC and a MAC. Must be a strong writer, accustomed to writing for senior level executives. Strong media relations skills and network required; proactive pitching and vetting also required. Knowledge of the enterprise business and corporate strategy important. Strong interpersonal skills required, with a positive approach to collaboration and relationship-building. Executive presence very important and must convey level of emotional intelligence. Able to demonstrate learning agility and meet tight deadlines.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $149,500 to $257,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
