Executive Director, Global Social Media

The Executive Director, Global Social Media is a seasoned social leader, deeply passionate about advancing the latest strategies, fostering community engagement, and driving brand storytelling initiatives. The Executive Director, Global Social Media is responsible for the strategic development of cohesive Social first strategies that align with brand and product marketing objectives. These strategies will generate brand awareness, engagement, loyalty and will foster our community of brand advocates. This role entails close alignment with the Founder's vision, bringing the brand’s philosophy to life.


This role will create and drive the roadmap to win on key platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as lead innovative ideas for content that can be scaleable and unique to Drunk Elephant across key digital platforms (Paid Media, E-Commerce). Additionally, the Executive Director will drive all Lo-Fi content creation, fueling organic social/owned channels, paid media and retailer/PDP needs.


The Executive Director will also champion Social globally, providing guidance to markets with their own social owned brand channels, liaising with key strategic partners on leveraging brand led social assets. They have strong expertise in measurement and are able to advance how we assess the value and impact of our Social channel activations.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and accelerate the brand’s Global Social footprint, inclusive of all owned platforms with a strong focus on priority channels Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Reimagine and reset key brand channel content pillars, DNA and strategy. 
  • Innovate new strategic thinking across the board and optimize performance across all social media activations.
  • Build differentiating social campaigns and programming designed to nurture community, support acquisition and drive engagement.
  • Grow, cultivate, and maintain an active and loyal social media community. Responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support digital innovation initiatives with an owned strategy to drive awareness with Drunk Elephant audiences.  
  • Oversee all Lo-Fi Content creation in close collaboration with Creative across multiple consumer facing channels – organic social, paid media and retailer/PDP in partnership with cross functional teams – Global Marketing, Creative, E-Commerce, etc.
  • Partner with priority markets, including the U.S., on content requests and compelling social co-op opportunities driving to key specialty retailers.
  • Oversee community management strategy and day-to-day execution, inclusive of response protocol and crisis response.
  • Review and approve monthly content calendars for key markets i.e. China. 
  • Oversee and approve monthly and project-specific social media reporting – responsible for actioning key insights and driving evolution and change for DE to remain digital first amongst competition.
  • Lead and manage direct reports, providing guidance and support to achieve performance goals.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments including Global Marketing, US Marketing and International Business to integrate social media strategies into broader marketing initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and changes in algorithms and platforms. Implement innovative and emerging practices to stay ahead of the competition.


QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in social media and digital marketing 
  • Bachelor Degree 
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and organizational skills
  • Passion for social media, community and skincare
  • A passionate, energetic team oriented individual with strong analytical, interpersonal, creative and leadership skills
  • A strong sense of urgency, ability to manage details and projects while responding to changing priorities
  • Ability to manage and train team members
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word
  • Familiarity with online analytical tools and social scheduling applications, such as: Dash Hudson and Tribe Dynamics

SALARY: $141,143 - $211,714/ year
