Event Accountant

Inglewood, CA

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our Event Accounting team. This position will be responsible for venue accounting functions including event invoicing, recording bank transactions, reconciling event expenses, journal entries and monthly account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be reliable and a self-starter with a strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create event invoices, follow-up on payments and record corresponding revenue
  • Record deposits across multiple bank accounts for event deposits, invoices, and various revenue streams
  • Reconcile daily bank deposits to Archtics ticket sales for various Paymentech and American Express merchant accounts
  • Responsible for multiple bank account reconciliations and supporting schedules for monthly reporting deadlines
  • Perform month-end close for events, including review GL activity, research variances, reclass miscoded items, post accruals and cost allocations 
  • Reconcile deferred revenue and AR balance sheet reconciliations and post clearing entries monthly
  • Prepare and execute event settlements, reconciling expenses to estimates, ticket sales and taxes, as required
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to high standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Considerable general accounting experience and knowledge, with an understanding of accounting software systems
  • Familiarity with Ticketmaster and Archtics ticketing systems and reporting
  • Entertainment and/or hospitality accounting experience preferred 
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is preferred
  • Flexible in handling change, able to juggle multiple demands, and adaptable to new situations 
  • Great teammate with strong communication and social skills
