BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Environmental Supervisor leads a team responsible for the execution of environmental protocols and programs for the company.


This involves guiding and supporting field level operations, as well as business unit leadership on applicable environmental regulations and assisting in development, gathering, and maintenance of environmental data for routine reports and metrics.


The Supervisor is ultimately accountable for providing proactive guidance and communication regarding future and current environmental regulations and initiatives for peer leading environmental performance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Articulates an environmental strategy that is directly tied to the business' strategies and goals
  • Teams with Business Units and Corporate Departments in development and execution of EHS Protocols and programs
  • Assists in the development of annual corporate EHS Goals
  • Oversees the development, gathering, and maintenance of environmental data for routine reports, metrics, and regulatory documents
  • Provides proactive environmental best practices and standards guidance to Operations and Facilities teams
  • Engages with internal stakeholders, providing regular compliance updates and EHS metric trends
  • Ensures adherence to and execution of air quality best practices and standards across the organization
  • Ensures work is prioritized and coordinated between other stakeholder groups within Devon
  • Interface with agency personnel during inspections, inquiries, and environmental events
  • Supports company acquisition and divestiture activities
  • Ensures environmental events are investigated and corrective actions are implemented
  • Empowers staff to make bold and innovative impacts on our business 
  • Facilitates professional growth of staff
  • Works with leadership peers to remove obstacles and barriers to change


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to work within a team environment and collaborate across a large stakeholder base
  • A high degree of competence with an innovative, analytical approach to novel ideas and problems
  • Ability to strategize, using imagination and foresight to conceptualize and avoid potential problems
  • Offices in Oklahoma City at Devon Energy Center. 


PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years environmental and/or oil and gas experience 
  • Previous experience, formally or informally, leading teams or large multidisciplinary projects. Formal leadership experience preferred
  • Requires knowledge of, and experience with, air, water, and waste regulations, including how to access current and proposed environmental regulations
  • Database, MS Access, PowerPoint and additional environmental software skills preferred
  • Willingness to relocate and travel
