Environmental Specialist

Key Expected Achievements:

  • Ensure the external and internal requirements of environment domain are identified (regulatory watch and prescriptions). Define action plans based on gap analysis to guarantee the site’s environmental compliance with regulations and internal requirements.  
  • Ensure all employees are trained and comply with all environmental regulations.
  • Support project teams for the environment and energy requirements and impacts.  Ensue the requirements are defined and transmitted to the project team with the “Planification/Avis EP”.
  • Communicate with the local Department of Environment and EPA on all issues pertaining to the site.
  • Ensure that current operating anomalies are analyzed and considered, with CO2, VOC, waste, water, pollution topics.  The necessary alerts are transmitted to appropriate stakeholders.  Ensure that all environmental incidents are handled properly and prevent any possible environmental incidents where feasible.
  • Environment/energy specialist participates in or leads the business meetings of this network.
  • Ensure that the annual review of the domains (energy and environment) is presented by the site Environmental specialist during the Environmental Management Review of the site.
  • External (environmental government structure) and internal partners are identified, and the Environment specialist is the site’s referent in these networks.
  • Support the management team for the environment domain in the event of an audit (ISO14001 or other audits/inspections) and in the event of a crisis impacting the domain.
  • Ensure that Energy Best Practices are applied and that self-diagnostics are facilitated. 
  • Facilitate the integration of energy consumption surveillance by activity and type of equipment are established.
  • Elaborate with the management team a medium-term vision of energy management consistent with the objectives and ambitions of the Group.
  • Support the optimization of energy cost and i-MEP by improving the environmental performance.
  • Ensure that the energy and Environmental indicators data are analyzed and reliable and reported in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the revision of contract optimizations (supply, transformation and maintenance, participation in exchanges with energy buyers).
  • Ensure efficiency of production and distribution of fluids and support site departments in improving their energy consumption.
  • Animation of progress involving all actors (operators, maintainer, technicians, managers) through steering groups, production meetings, awareness campaigns, etc.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or STEM and/or 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in NSPS, MACT, and NESHAP
  • Effective communication skills with peers, management, employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Self-motivated; takes initiative and works with a minimum of supervision.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess the highest level of integrity, honesty, and ethics.  You know right from wrong and treat everyone with respect and professionalism.
  • Team player: works cooperatively with others to solve problems and proactively helps others when assistance is needed.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Outlook, and Microsoft programs
