Environmental Specialist

Provides technical consultation to the workforce, project teams and leadership on a wide range of environmental matters spanning the design, fabrication, installation, operations and decommissioning of Chevron assets.


Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Environmental Specialist  through April 18th at 11:59 p.m.  Moutain Time


Supports RBU by providing air support in permitting, interpretation of regulatory requirements, facility design and compliance support.


Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: 

  • Environmental data management, preparing and submitting regulatory forms, inventories and calculations, regulatory interpretation, new rule implementation, support for field inspections and other activities.
  • Responsibilities will also include working well across all functions of the business, building relationships and working through complex problems to implement cost effective solutions.
  • The position may have the opportunity to develop a skill set in a broad range of environmental programs, including but not limited to: air permitting, air compliance, GHG emissions, waste management, stormwater, SPCC, spill response, remediation, reclamation, and wildlife mitigation.
  • Responsibilities include state and federal regulation applicability determinations; permitting; review of proposed operational changes to ensure compliance; participation in implementation of new or modified US Federal, State, Local and/or Tribal environmental regulations.
  • Social skills and professionalism necessary to establish and maintain long-term working relationships within and external to the organization.


Required Qualifications: 

  • 0-5 years of related experience within an environmental focus area
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree within the preceding 6 months
  • Computer skills/Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 Years work experience within an air environmental focus area
  • Experience as an environmental engineer, environmental coordinator, or environmental specialist
  • Proficiency with MS Office (e.g., Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint)
  • Proficiency with ACTS or equivalent data management system
  • Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes.

Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll. 


The anticipated salary range for this position is $87,100 – $149,500.
