Environmental, Safety & Health Associate

Orlando, FL

Candidate will support Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Environment, Safety and Health department (ESH) in the on-going management and enhancement of ESH programs and regulatory compliance and will provide technical assistance to Orlando Operations, and other MFC based programs and functions. Candidate will manage ESH performance in assigned areas through effective communications, project management, and the development of continuous improvement initiatives. Candidate will provide technical regulatory and process guidance to address all emerging ESH issues. Candidate must be able to effectively work independently as part of a functional team to resolve related issues. Candidate will represent the MFC ESH Organization across all levels of the company and customer hierarchy and will drive ESH culture within the assigned programs and ensure full compliance with all applicable ESH regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate must be able to work on-call and varied shifts on occasion and may be required to travel infrequently.


Continue effective application of the Target Zero Program which has been developed to ensure a safe and healthy workforce and workplace through ergonomic and operational design, protective work practices, worker resilience, and targeted safety and health risk reduction techniques. Integral to this is knowledge of ergonomics and computer skills to include familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


The position will also include ergonomic and job hazard assessments, worksite evaluations, review of new processes, examination of plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included, and accident/incident investigation to develop trend data in an effort to prevent a recurrence.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Establish and maintain effective, productive customer relationships with customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, audit, and communicate regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • The candidate must be a US citizen.


Desired Skills:

  • Professional ESH experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong written and communication skills, ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and associated compliance programs.
  • This role will require a basic knowledge of industrial hygiene and general industrial safety areas such as electrical safety, machine guarding, and chemical hazards.
  • Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist recognition desired, but not required to start.


Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  • Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
