Environmental (Recycling) Regulation Analyst

Responsibilities
- Comply with Extended Producer Responsibility, Labeling, PCR, and associated Environmental regulations and standards across all product categories, packaging, and marketing
- Monitor and summarize any federal and state bills, laws, regulations and standards for environmental issues and report implications for LG products
- Review and analyze environmental topics and make reports with key findings and implications to LGE
- Participate in rulemaking progress in relevant laws, regulations, and standards to apply LGE's opinion
- Participate in rulemaking progress in sustainability standards and support the verification process for programs, such as EPEAT, AHAM
- Research other companies’ and industry’s approach to new regulation compliance
- Support global factories and HQ in regulatory matters and compliance
- Establish contact points within relevant agencies to provide LGE with guidance on rules and regulations
- Deal with clarification with relevant US governments and industry associations and law firms and etc. upon request
- Deal with enforcement action from federal and state government agencies, such as EPA, CARB and etc.
- Gather data and submit environmental reports, including registration, plan, sales reports, and other compliance reports, to agencies or other entities as required
- Develop guidance documents and presentations for internal training and education
- Participate in relevant Industry Association working groups as LGE lead representative
- Support LGE for Government Affairs and Public Relations in Association activities
- Exert cross functional efforts to align LGE positions with Industry policies
- Develop policy and commitment for internal/external use
- Maintain and update recycling website and communicate with LG customers regarding recycling program services
- Manage budget, process expenses, and report regarding compliance program costs internally
- Work internally with Procurement and Legal teams to manage RFP process, select recycling partners, and negotiate contracts for compliance services
- Oversee recycling partners to ensure that they are meeting compliance requirements on behalf of LG, and conduct annual audits to ensure they meet compliance, conformity, and contractual obligations
- Review, organize, and analyze sales data, product weight, and packaging weight data for compliance reporting
- Prepare and distribute notifications to retailer partners regarding LG’s participation and compliance with applicable laws
- Provide environmental data for sustainability request from buyers
Qualifications
- BS degree in chemical engineering and/or Environmental policy related majors required; MS degree preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in related field
- Organizational Skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced team
- Must have strong communication, influencing and executional skills, and a desire to work in a complex and challenging fast- paced environment
- MS Office (Excel and Powerpoint)
