The EHS officer will manage all environmental health and safety matters for the USDS portfolio including crisis management, ER cases, and EHS communications program and policies. In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department.


We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.


Responsibilities

  • Develop documentation as it relates to ISO 14001 including monthly updates, safety committee meetings, ISO 14001 EMS Management Reviews and internal/external audit, accident investigations and metrics tracking.
  • Create and maintain required EHS permits, such as air, water, waste, pressurized vessels, emergency response, etc.
  • Identify risks within the company’s business operations; develop and implement programs to mitigate.
  • Identify new and emerging EHS regulatory requirements; develop and implement programs and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Perform accident and incident investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide follow-up to action plans from audits, self-inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
  • Develops and oversees EHS training programs for employees in areas such as OHSA general industry required training. Also Conducts safety training and awareness sessions for employees and leaders
  • Provides On call support for EHS emergencies
  • Serves as a resource to management and EHS staff on matters relating to occupational health and safety and environmental compliance


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous EHS experience with a large tech company
  • Extensive experience conducting incident investigations, personal protective equipment assessments, job hazard analysis and EHS training.
  • Extensive experience with managing various EHS compliance programs Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong researching skills and understanding of specific code or regulatory language in order to maintain EHS compliance. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Code of Federal regulation, OSHA regulations and other consensus standards, and procedure manuals
  • Experience at issue tracking, triaging and crisis management. - Ability to navigate and interpret EHS regulations

For Pay Transparency - Compensation Description - Annually


The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $103.300 - $186.100 annually.​


Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
