Basic Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of business principles. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field.

 

Successful completion of a drug screen and background check is required. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team in Bloomington, MN. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. This position will support program teams supporting the efforts.

 

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various projects of the GDMS organization and its clients. In addition to receiving a competitive wage, the Environmental, Health and Safety Intern will enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern (Paid) will report directly to the Western Regional EHS Manager, but will take daily direction from the Bloomington EHS Rep. Responsibilities, working within a team environment, will include:

  • Planning and Management to the ISO Standards for Environmental and Health and Safety
  • Chemical Inventory and SDS Management
  • Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s) Review
  • Review of Safety Programs (such as Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, LOTO)
  • Evaluation of Energy Savings Opportunities
  • Participate in Change Notification evaluations 
  • Develop, participate and work with the team on routine audits, inspections and meetings

 

These intern activities will provide the foundation for solid knowledge of safety and environmental tasks within the EHS field.

 

Salary Note

Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.


Combined Salary Range

USD $23.55 - USD $23.55 /Yr.
