Environmental Health, Fire, Life and Safety Senior Manager

New York, NY

Wells Fargo is seeking a Property Management Senior Manager to oversee the Environmental Health, Fire, Life and Safety across its portfolio of real estate. The role will be responsible for ensuring that CPG has adequately defined roles, responsibilities, and stakeholder interaction model to ensure effective fire and life safety preparedness at its facilities, as well as compliance with all regulations (inclusive of DOT, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, etc.). Additional responsibilities include supervising a team of EHS professionals whose goal is to manage environmental due diligence activities, legal documents, training and more.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership ensuring all Wells Fargo locations’ compliance with environmental health, fire, life and safety requirements are met.
  • Manage and create safety related documents, policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable global regulatory agencies.
  • Implement all applicable corporate EHFLS (Environmental Health, Fire, Life and Safety) initiatives, and communicate all corporate priorities in a manner that effectively drives program consistency and effectiveness across the global teams.
  • Assist with field work, analyze impact and participate in pre-capital planning and verification of controls and safeguards are met.
  • Implement a best-in-class Environmental Management Information system, integrating with existing Wells Fargo technology solutions.
  • Develop, maintain and audit location safety standards and procedures,
  • investigate and keep track of all accidents to determine root case and provide recommendations that eliminate or reduce future hazards or risks.
  • Inspect facilities that store, handle, and use hazardous materials to ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Establish a formal Fire & Life Safety cross-functional operating model.
  • Develop key roles and responsibilities across stakeholders of the Fire & Life Safety cross-functional operating model to ensure appropriate and sustainable coverage, including any identified gaps.
  • Periodically confirm the suite of fire and life safety preparedness-related training courses and guidance materials provided to employees is sufficient and adequately synchronized. 
  • Create and maintain an inventory of property data attributes for the dedicated purpose of managing Fire & Life Safety preparedness. Develop and implement management reporting and routines.
  • Develop and manage specific plans, playbooks, and procedures to make certain they are current, complete, and effectively implemented.
  • Identify corrective actions necessary to bring facilities/areas into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and report it accordingly up the chain of command.
  • Make final decision on administrative and operational issues
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development for Corporate Properties issues and policies
  • Participate with other group managers and directors to develop operating policies and procedure
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced management


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 6+ years of Property Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience


Desired Qualifications, US:

  • Minimum 8+ years of technical experience related to Environmental Health, Fire, life and Safety discipline.
  • Knowledge of security processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree is desired. Specialization in Occupational Safety or Health, Safety Engineering, Safety Science, or Environmental Health is preferred.
  • Experience leading high-hazard program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change.
  • Experience interpreting and applying state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to interface with people at all levels in the organization including senior executives
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and research skills
  • Ability to motivate a team and lead critical initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required
  • Knowledge and understanding of operations strategy and policy development
  • Possesses executive presence, high energy, ability to manage complexity and a broad scope of daily work activities and stakeholders.


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

  • NY - New York City: Min $138,500 Max $287,600
  • NC - Charlotte: Min $120,400 Max $250,000
  • TX - Dallas: Min $120,400 Max $250,000
  • CO - Denver: Min $120,400 Max $250,000
  • MN - Minneapolis: Min $120,400 Max $250,000
  • AZ - Phoenix: Min $120,400 Max $250,000


Salary offered dependent on location. May be considered for a discretionary bonus.
