Environmental Coordinator

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic Entry-Level Environmental Coordinator. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.


Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. LOCATION

This position will be located in Denver, CO.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections and sampling for the project.
  • Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks at the project.
  • Understand project environmental plans.
  • Maintain project data tracking requirements.
  • Prepare project and Kiewit required reports and communication of environmental risks to project management. Including but not limited to LQD Annual Report, AQD Annual Report, Spill Reports, and Compliance monitoring. 
  • Monitor, forecast, and communicate environmental costs at the project level
  • Perform and oversee field inspections and monitoring. Including the following types of inspections and fieldwork.   
  • SPCC, ASCM’s, SWPPP, Reservoirs, and monthly DEQ inspections. 
  • Water Sampling
  • Waste Management
  • Topsoil Management
  • General Surveying
  • Managing Contractors
  • Develop and conduct environmental protection and awareness training for staff when required.
  • Function as an advisor and facilitator for project environmental issues.
  • Coordinate with relevant crews on their work locations, material needs, quantities, and invoices.
  • Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communities.
  • Interact with contractors and governmental agencies providing them design information, schedule details, quantities, etc. ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting, and compliance issues.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental science or engineering field.
  • Basic knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Base Compensation: $56,239 - $84,358 


(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
