Engineering Software Director

The EDE (Equipment Development Engineering) organization is responsible for delivering the mechanics, electronics, and software used in the production of Seagate storage products. 

 

About the role - you will:

  • Lead multiple globally distributed software teams across the US and Asia
  • Drive Strategy across the organization around application security, IT and OpenSource software groups and committees.
  • Drive definition of software development strategy and deploy organizational changes 
  • Deliver high quality software used in a production environment
  • Provide strategic leadership and technical stewardship to your teams
  • Engage with key customers and stakeholders
  • Coordinate, monitor, and report on execution of projects using Agile frameworks, techniques, and metrics​ 
  • Manage fluid priorities and requirements and resulting project roadmap
  • Support key internal customers (sustaining) as well as R&D activities​ 
  • Engage with cross functional teams to define and develop the software roadmap for equipment platforms, including sustaining activities along with new design and development

  • Understanding of DevOps 
  • Software development skills 
  • Embedded software design and development 
  • Windows and Linux software development 
  • Software architecture 
  • Debugging complex systems 
  • Software factory deployment

 

You might also have:

  • Experience with Linux, Python, RTOS
  • Knowledge of MDWx, Spin-stand, and/or ComET eco systems


Location:

This role can be based out of Longmont, CO , Shakopee, MN or Singapore (Woodlands 3 location)
