Engineering Manager

Florence, SC

Vulcraft of South Carolina, a division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking applicants for an Engineering Manager position. Nucor Corporation is a Fortune 150 corporation with a history of long-term sustainability and stability. The responsibilities of the Engineering Manager will be to lead the Engineering Department at Vulcraft of South Carolina and ensure alignment with Nucor and Divisional expectations. They also must participate as a member of the division’s leadership team in driving sustainable, profitable results. They are also expected to recruit, select and develop the talent needed to sustain and grow Nucor.

  • Lead the division's detailing, engineering, and quality efforts in alignment with Nucor's expectations. 
  • Recruit, select, and develop the right team with a balance of technical, business and leadership skills.
  • Develop and manage the systems and processes necessary for effective execution of near and long-term division strategies. 
  • Provide guidance and expertise in relevant engineering codes and standards.
  • Support division efforts in innovation through collaborative problem solving and technical support. 
  • Provide leadership in division and group projects that target and produce the highest returns for Nucor. 
  • Must have the ability to travel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a Civil or Structural PE with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

  • Problem Solving – Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.


Preferences:

  • Leadership experience in an Engineering Department
  • Work experience in Sales, Sales Service, Finance, Production or Shipping 
  • CWI Certification
