Engineering Manager

Remote (San Diego, CA)

Trust & Will is looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to help us scale and support our growing platform. You’ll be joining the team powering everything happening behind the scenes.


As the Engineering Manager, you will manage multiple teams within the Infrastructure Department who work on Trust & Will services and contribute to our product. You are capable of managing multiple teams within infrastructure, and their projects at the same time. You will also have the opportunity to grow the existing talent on your teams through mentorship and continued learning. This is an influential role and the ideal candidate will model the behaviors we want to see in our teams and hold others accountable when necessary. You will create a collaborative and productive environment in which all engineers do their work and succeed. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team currently of 7 engineers, consisting of platform engineers, SRE, and DBA.


More About the Role:

  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to manage and operate Trust & Will infrastructure
  • Manage the implementation of application and infrastructure monitoring, incident management, change management workflows, and backup and recovery plans.
  • Manage and scale the data infrastructure that powers Trust & Will platform
  • Automate all phases of build and deployment pipelines
  • A deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and environments (public/private) and ability to lead the team through strategic architectural decision-making and technical challenges in implementation
  • Communicate design and decisions and influence technology and product direction of peers and executive leadership
  • Make and meet commitments. Communicate changes in plans whether they be design or timeline modifications honestly and transparently
  • Generate and implement process improvements, especially cross-team processes
  • Hold regular 1:1’s with the team
  • Management mentorship


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a leader in Platform, DevOps, SRE; as a team lead or manager
  • Proven experience with production incident detection, response, communications, and remediation
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and environments (public/private) and ability to lead the team through technical challenges in implementation
  • Developer platform or tool industry experience as an individual contributor at a senior level or above

  • Our salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000, in addition to compensation we also include an employee equity package as a component of our offer along with other benefits and perks outlined below.
