Engineering Manager

Pumpkin is looking for an Engineering Manager to oversee and optimize the engineering of our Growth and DTC efforts. Through a partnership with product, technical leadership and line management of a pack of frontend and backend software engineers, you’ll facilitate and make key decisions on how Pumpkin serves Pet Parents and their needs. This role will balance the delivery of a complex, challenging, and high-visibility product roadmap with short term technical and business needs.

What You'll Do:

• Work closely with product and other stakeholders to make sure technical needs are planned for
• Provide process and architectural guidance for engineers to work within
• Break down work for engineers and make sure that engineers time is being utilized efficiently
• Manage performance of engineers on the team
• Be the reasonable voice between PMs and line level engineers, brokering right-sized solutions to problems rather than big builds and bandaids

What We're Looking For:

• Comfortable with shifting priorities of a startup and being able to start work with some ambiguity
• 3+ Years of Experience of Technical Management
• Experience in a DTC startup environment
• Built and delivered products that require research, iteration, and discovery
• Familiarity with A/B testing and web analytics

• Experience with distributed or remote teams
• Analytical and data exploration skills
• Experience with Personalization
