Ecommerce Merchandising & Product Manager

About the Role:

The Ecommerce Product Manager will be primarily responsible for day-to-day management and support to the Ecommerce Department for our US and Canada Shopify websites (www.giordanacycling.com and www.giordanacustom.com) and Amazon. This role will act as a counterpart to the Ecommerce Manager to help simplify their tactical work and allow them to focus on enhancing business growth. This role encompasses a broad view of the organization with access to many functions/team members and the ideal candidate will have the ability to connect people and actions to ensure the product line can be delivered to market simply and accurately.

 

The ideal candidate must be systems-oriented, process-driven, with strong attention to detail and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment. The person in this role will be responsible for troubleshooting and problem-solving systems related to ecommerce platforms, assisting the ecommerce department with optimizing product listings, and manage all go-to-market web related initiatives.

This role is an integral part of our current six-person marketing team. Although the role will directly report to the e-commerce manager, the person in this role must be accustomed to focused, self-managed projects with an ability to self-start new tasks without the directive from the team, but in the best interest of the team, department, and growth goals. The person in the role must also be prepared to report on their individual progress weekly to the marketing team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate day-to-day e-commerce operations including online merchandising, operations, promotions, content execution and product management
  • Optimize website for conversion rate growth which includes (but is not limited to) updating photos, copy, product information and features, size charts, filters, re-merchandising collections, re-ordering navigation, landing pages, etc.
  • Enter and manage products, images, and product content on Shopify websites (www.giordanacycling.com and www.giordanacustom.com) via Excel uploads
  • Enter and manage products, images, and product content on Amazon Seller Central via Excel uploads
  • Enter and manage products, SKUs, warehouse locations, tax information and barcodes in ShipStation
  • Test and audit websites regularly to discover and execute needed updates
  • Continually identify and evaluate new opportunities for better product listing optimization
  •  Assist with merchandising product collections on the Shopify website – this may include tagging products for organization, setting up promotions and discount codes
  • Work with team to improve customer experience and other metrics to increase conversion rate
  • Communicate with team on trends, best practices, and ways to constantly improve quality content
  • Proofread, edit, and review content for quality, accuracy, uniqueness, and value

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical errors and oversee systems and workflows

Qualifications:

  • Experience in merchandising, online marketing, ecommerce within retail and/or wholesale industry is required
  •  Interest or experience within the apparel/sporting goods/outdoor industry a plus
  • Must be highly proficient with Excel
  • Experience with the following preferred
  • ERP systems
  • Shopify Plus
  • Amazon Seller Central
  • ShipStation
  • HubSpot
  • API system integrations
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to be forward thinking and manage multiple tasks and projects at once
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced team environment while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to quickly learn and work with new systems and software
