Document Control Specialist

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PAX Labs is looking for a Document Control Specialist to support our Hardware Engineering and Consumables teams. This role is highly cross-functional, as the DCS must work directly with individual contributors across the organization to ensure all product data is captured and controlled appropriately. Flexibility and creativity are crucial to synthesizing the many different elements of product development documentation into a coherent product record.

  • Manage all product and supplier data in the context of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
  • Build and track completion of engineering change orders (ECOs) in the PLM system
  • Conduct research within the existing product record to support suppliers and fellow team members
  • Attend relevant program meetings to anticipate team needs
  • Actively defend the integrity of the PLM process and product record
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in processes, and write proposals to close them. Manage implementation of process changes, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Act as project manager for limited-scope, documentation-focused programs such as bundle offerings or seasonal colors


This role is remote, and based on PST working hours, but local candidates are encouraged to apply. Some evening hours may be required to communicate with East Asian suppliers during their workdays. Occasional travel to the SF headquarters will be necessary as well.


PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Very strong organizational skills
  • Ability to track multiple separate tasks to completion with minimal oversight
  • Ability to accept and own responsibility for your work
  • Experience with PLM systems (Arena, Windchill, Propel, etc.)
  • Experience performing research in a technical field
  • Experience with project management in a technical field


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD ALSO POSSESS

  • Experience with Arena PLM specifically
  • Knowledge of the consumer electronics Product Development Process
  • Programming experience in VB and/or JSON interoperability

  • BS/BA Degree

COMPENSATION

In addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $55-65k + equity. This pay range represents what we believe, in good faith, this role will pay. The final pay will depend on many factors, including years and depth of experience, level, and location of the employee. We only expect to pay the top of the range in rare and exceptional circumstances, for candidates that far exceed the requirements and expectations of the position.
