Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program Manager

The Program Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, will be responsible for developing and managing diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) programs in a manner that advances the DE&I strategic plan and roadmap. Reporting to the Senior Director of DE&I, this person will work with the DE&I department, councils, and project teams to drive key programs, project plans, communication plans, measurement tools, and campaigns based on DE&I priorities and will liaison with external partners and internal teams such as HR, HRIS, IT, Learning, Associate Experience, Associate Relations, Legal, Marketing, and Internal Communications.

  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The program manager must be an effective, results-driven leader with program and change management experience and strong communication and relationship-building skills. The program manager must have a solid track record of excelling in fast-paced environments, when faced with ambiguity and while managing competing priorities concurrently. The program manager must be an excellent collaborator and business partner with demonstrated ability to consult with external partners and internal teams at all levels throughout the organization. The person in this role must have the ability to use discretion and good judgment in handling confidential information.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive development and execution of programs to support and advance DE&I strategies, such as workforce, workplace, marketplace, and community strategies; this includes working effectively with internal and external stakeholders including leaders, associates, vendors, and internal partners to ensure program success.
  • Manage new and existing DE&I programs, such as corporate giving campaigns, company match programs, associate volunteerism, and location-based community service projects; this includes managing key external partnerships and leading cross-functional projects to position programs for success.
  • Craft and curate content to create awareness for DE&I programs; this includes developing communication plans to support the change management process, partnering with the DE&I department, councils, and project teams to publish content, and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the content is aligned with corporate practices and policies.
  • Provide general program and project management oversight for assigned DE&I programs, projects, and initiatives; this includes developing measurement tools, monitoring progress against KPIs and budgets, managing DE&I volunteer project teams, and serving as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support development and execution of external communication plans to increase awareness and recognition for Floor & Decor in DE&I and corporate social responsibility (CSR) spaces; this includes acting as a contact for rewards and recognition to spotlight associates, leaders, and locations going above and beyond in support of the company’s DE&I and CSR-related programs.
  • Keep current on DE&I trends, best practices and program development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in program and/or project management, preferably in DE&I, Community Relations, Philanthropy, Communications, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience partnering and working strategically with cross-functional teams to drive overall solution creation and adoption, while appropriately managing issues and risks and large-scale change management
  • Data-driven decision maker with excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; proven ability to solidify and grow relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to independently and collaboratively drive execution in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive associate and business information with utmost confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Retail experience, preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL & ENVIRONMENT):

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.


Physical/Sensory Requirements:

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time."
