General purpose of the job

The District Sales Manager is responsible for developing a strategy for his territory aligning this with the region’s overall business goals and objectives. S/He works closely with Production, Distribution, Technical Sales and Sales personnel to ensure customer demands are met and customer complaints are resolved immediately. The incumbent manages the market share and profitability goals assigned in his territory ensuring that targets set each year are met or exceeded. The incumbent also manages and implements requirements coming from the strategic marketing unit from our corporate office. 


The incumbent will be responsible for the sales of our cementitious products, e.g. Cement, slag, fly ash and blended cement.


The incumbent ensures that the sales representatives and technical sales representatives reporting to him are well-trained, developed in product knowledge and selling and well-motivated to provide value propositions to our customers every time.


Individual accountabilities

  • Responsible for the overall sales and marketing function in a specific sales area.
  • Accountable for the achievement of sales and profitability objectives in a business unit.
  • Develops and implements a sound marketing strategy to maximize profitability and efficiencies in the business unit.
  • Recruits, trains, develops and manages the sales force in his territory.
  • Oversees customer complaint resolutions.
  • Manages the overall sales area administrative system to support the activities of the area sales and marketing group.


Education

  1. Undergraduate in Engineering or International Business
  2. Master in Engineering or International Business


Technical knowledge and certifications

N/A


Area of experience

Three to five years in the cement/concrete industry, Technically proficient in cement, SCM, and concrete products, Facility with numbers and Computer literate.

English


Annual Salary Range from $128,823 to $178,921
