Disney Entertainment Communications Intern

Burbank, CA

Disney Entertainment develops and produces compelling programming and some of the most successful talked-about series on television today.

 

The Disney Entertainment Communications departments span ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Freeform and Onyx Collective. The intern would assist the Communications teams in all areas on a rotational basis.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain schedules and press lists.
  • Curate and disseminate information to team, including daily press headlines tracking.
  • Send materials to press.
  • Assist in writing press releases, loglines and bios.
  • Assist during virtual publicity and FYC events (may include some evenings and weekends and could transition to in-person attendance pending the health & safety situation).
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and publicity strategy meetings.
  • Contribute to social media efforts.


What you bring to the role…

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Previous media/PR internship experience.
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking/prioritization skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to see projects through to completion.
  • Self-starter/able to take initiative.
  • Interpersonal/relationship-building skills; ability to take feedback and direction.
  • Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team based environment.
  • Proficient in social media.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship experience within a related field.


The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.20 per hour.


Additional Information:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship​
  • Must be at least 18 years of age​
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization​
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session​
  • Program length-- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 through January 2024
  • Work details-- Must be fully available full-time (40 hours) per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Housing-- Must provide own housing for the duration of internship program​ in the Burbank, CA area
  • Transportation-- Must have reliable transportation to/from work​
