Director, Workday Marketing Events

This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and manage a team who supports the delivery of our flagship experience marketing programs.


The key responsibilities include:

  • Own and lead a complex, cross-functional brand experience that requires a keen ability to manage multiple global workstreams towards a common vision and goal.
  • Inspire a team and collaborate with internal and external partners to create meaningful experiences throughout the lifecycle of an event.
  • Develop an end-to-end approach to deliver a world-class and evolving hybrid experience that brings Workday’s brand to life and differentiates us in the marketplace.
  • Demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent and sound judgment.
  • Establish repeatable processes, templates and standards.
  • Effectively communicate and present plans and performance across the organization including key stakeholders and executives.
  • Operate with an attitude of ownership, speed and collaboration.
  • Create an inclusive, dynamic working environment that motivates the team and creates a path for growth.
  • Guide the selection and expansion of global vendor partnerships to include best in breed services that will enhance the attendee experience and advance programs.
  • Keep up on industry trends and engage appropriate counterparts outside of Workday to gain best-practice knowledge.
  • Drive policies and standards around sustainability and accessibility across all programs.


About You

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of demonstrated success in marketing events within a publicly held B2B technology organization
  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed large, very complex, multidimensional conferences on a global scale
  • Experience in a people-management position and ability to prioritize in s competing tasks
  • Strong analytical skills, and consistent track record in making data-driven decisions to continually optimize performance and determine future investments.
  • Highly proficient global budget development and management skills
  • Experience working with programs that support sales and drive pipeline.
  • Strong proficiency in gaining alignment and communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving business needs and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Diligent, independent and able to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands within established timelines.
  • Skilled collaborator capable of partnering with internal teams.
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel required as related to assigned events
  • Proficient using Google Suite, MS Office Applications, Slack and other enterprise applications.
  • Experience with event platforms (RainFocus, Kaltura, ON24, SpotMe, Cvent, Aventri, Braindate, Jifflenow)
  • Must align with Workday vaccine policy.
