Director, Transaction Management

New York, NY

The Transaction Management Team sits at the intersection of Leasing (Sales), Finance, and Real Estate and is tasked with identifying and scaling business opportunities in tandem with our Global Sales teams to increase revenue and occupancy. The Transaction Management team members will be primarily focused on;


  • Overseeing and executing high-impact Real Estate transactions in WeWork assets in a defined territory
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to execute strategies to improve WeWork’s transaction platform
  • Acting as subject matter expert with leasing on agency partnerships, corporate client and tenant rep education
  • Leading and developing a team of associates towards common goals of the organization

  • 8+ years of transactional, underwriting and finance experience in commercial real estate
  • Experience in transaction approvals and deal committees
  • Experience in a client-facing, analytical and results-oriented environment
  • Deep understanding of real estate market fundamentals in various markets (local and international) and ability to identify the applicable value drivers for flexible real estate
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and align the interests of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to lead, recruit and retain, and develop individuals on the team across US and Canada


In this role, you’ll: 

Transaction Execution and Deal Structuring

  • Lead (in tandem with asset/account sales leaders) an end-to-end transaction process – partnering with key internal stakeholders (sales, legal, design) and external partners (brokers, clients) – from strategy development, deal underwriting oversight, structuring, pitch, negotiations, closing. Oversee deal committee process and approvals as applicable.


Transaction Platform

  • Develop and implement best practice processes and strategies to increase the quality, velocity and variety of deals WeWork does with its clients. Partner with internal stakeholders such as finance and leasing to create scalable infrastructure for transactions.


Business Strategy

  • Partner with Heads of Leasing and Portfolio Directors to develop and implement business and market strategies (with focus on sales and pricing) to drive overall growth and efficiency in the business. Assist Sales Leadership with ad-hoc projects and analyses to support business decisions.


Team Leadership

  • Manage and support a team of Transaction Management Associates, act as a conduit to executive leadership, remove roadblocks, distill complex issues into simple solutions, and align interests of multiple stakeholders.


Business Development

  • Build relationships (agency partners, clients), develop new business, and provide expert consultation to internal and external senior executives to establish the Transaction Management team as a trusted partner.
