Director, Talent & Culture

As the Director, Talent & Culture, you will report to the Chief People Officer in order to make Quorum a top-notch diverse workforce where all team members flourish. 


This Director will be instrumental in shaping company culture in all areas of Talent & Culture including employee engagement, total rewards, organizational design and succession planning, talent acquisition and employee relations, to name a few. You will provide strategic & hands-on organizational support to leaders and team members across Quorum. You will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the talent engagement and talent acquisition strategies for Quorum. This role will drive the implementation of the Talent Strategy, while focusing on promoting a diverse and inclusive culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer and senior leadership to understand Quorum’s goals and strategy related to Talent Engagement and Talent Acquisition.
  • Partner and consult with leaders and across business units to align Talent strategy to business strategy, provide HR guidance when appropriate, actively identifying gaps, proposing and implementing solutions.
  • Act as a member of the Talent & Culture Leadership team helping to manage and develop team members.
  • Design, implement, and improve talent engagement programs that will help with retention efforts.
  • Develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Develop a Talent Acquisition strategy to position Quorum as an employer of choice and manage full life-cycle recruiting.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, training, and initiatives, to support the organization’s compliance and Talent strategy needs.
  • Administer or oversee the administration of, but not limited to, compensation, benefits and leave, compliance, and immigration.
  • Manage bi-annual and annual performance review processes across departments
  • Provide day-to-day coaching to leaders and performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions), coaching employees through Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Provide guidance on workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Create a culture of real time feedback and implement systems for talent development and performance management
  • Develop strategies to reward and retain high performers
  • Manage search and recruiting vendors
  • Monitor and ensure the organization complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.


About You

  • You have over six years of experience working in human resources, including team member relations, benefits administration, inclusion and diversity, and talent acquisition. Bonus if you’ve led a team of professionals. 
  • You are committed to protecting confidential information and act with integrity—choosing courage over comfort, pursuing what is right over what is easy, and practicing company values rather than simply professing them 
  • You can chart out and follow a plan for a multi-month process (e.g., company-wide performance appraisal) with strong attention to detail
  • You are able to describe the core characteristics that lead to team member engagement and/or burnout and suggest specific approaches to increase workforce engagement
  • You take pride in building strong relationships with people from all walks of life and strive to create a physical and psychological environment where team members feel safe at work
  • You possess interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • You believe that human resources professionals should seek to understand business goals and apply a data-driven approach to effectively advise on core people issues (e.g., hiring, engagement, advancement, retention) 
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are able synthesize complex information into easily digestible insights
  • You will stand out if you have experience working with diversity hiring and retention efforts, including employee or business resource groups
  • You are an especially strong candidate if you have or are working on earning a nationally recognized Human Resources credential (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP). 


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of human resource management experience required.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing DEI best practices in recruitment, training, and retention processes.
  • Ability to manage compensation, benefits, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.

Our Work Environment:

  • We usually work in a vibrant, sunlit space in our modern, open concept office. During the COVID-19 health crisis, most of our team members are working from home in locations around the world. 
  • Our office building is located in the heart of downtown DC, easily accessible by metro, bus, and rideshares. It is also in close proximity to great restaurants, food trucks, shopping, and popular happy hour spots.
  • Our team loves to spend time doing fun things outside of the office, which we call Quorum Fun events. Past Quorum Fun events have included apple picking, yoga, and wine tasting

Compensation Structure

  • Base Salary: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 (commensurate with experience)
  • Variable Compensation: Up to $10,000.00 team-based bonus based upon hitting People Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • On Target Earnings: $120,000.00–$130,000.00 (OTE expectations dependent upon base salary)
