Director, Project Delivery

As a member of the North America Project Delivery Leadership team, the Director, Project Delivery will:

  • Hire, train and manage a team of Project and Program Managers who are responsible for the planning and execution of projects from low to medium to high complexity.
  • Deliver the Ops Excellence and Project Delivery strategies through all startup activity inside of North America
  • Own and drive the project delivery strategy through assigned business unit
  • Collaborative, broad thinker with strong problem solving capabilities


Responsibilities

  • Develop project manager team skills in DePICT methodology, Planview system and sales to delivery process
  • Mentor and develop direct report talent
  • Operate as escalation point for all projects inside of assigned business unit and drive to a solution
  • Project prioritization within assigned business unit and in collaboration with peers
  • Resource management - project manager assignment, ensuring skill set matches the project requirement to meet the clients’ deliverables and sector business needs
  • Leadership of assigned business unit projects, starting from the early stages of proposal development through delivery to potentially include proposals
  • Perform risk reviews through Project Assurance for assigned business unit launches
  • Stay informed on all BU projects to ensure proper reporting, customer management and risk mitigation
  • Perform all necessary executive reporting
  • Ability to effectively engage, guide, challenge and direct at an executive level with assigned BU leadership team
  • Ability to represent, engage and drive regional, strategic and global projects through DHL Supply Chain
  • Ability to work and guide a team through a matrix based organization
  • Educate and challenge direct reports and business unit team to ensure projects can deliver operational and financial measures outlined in business cases
  • Ability to effectively represent Project Management competency and capability in the early stages for leads and proposal development for assigned business unit opportunities


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree, required
  • 10+ years of experience within Project Management or related field, required
  • 5+ years of experience people managements, required
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, operations management or manufacturing environment
