Director, Production & Operations

Apollo Beach, FL

The Director of Production and Operations is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of cannabis flower and infused products and leading a team of Managers, Assistant Managers, Production Leads, Specialists, and Associates. Products can include dry flower and pre-rolls, infused topicals, tablets, beverages, and more.


You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our cannabis cultivation, processing, and production operations. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality production processes while contributing to our company's overall growth and success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize cultivation, processing, and production operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to department heads and teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the production department.


2. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis production.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control and quality assurance protocols to guarantee product safety and consistency.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and agencies to stay updated on evolving cannabis industry regulations.


3. Resource Management:

  • Manage budgets, resources, and staffing requirements for the operations and production departments.
  • Oversee inventory management, procurement, and supply chain logistics to ensure adequate raw materials and supplies.


4. Production Planning:

  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet demand while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

  

5. Safety and Sustainability

  • Implement safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency, in production processes.


6. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and research and development, to align production with company goals and market demands.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations and production management, preferably in the cannabis or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation, extraction, and production processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement and efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, and position objects, tools, or controls. Must be able to lift and occasionally move packages/objects weighing up to 25 lb. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment
