Director, Procurement Finance

You will be responsible for the overall financial integrity and performance of Supply Chain. In this role, you will deliver detailed business plans within set targets and monitor the execution and/or adaptation of those steps. You will also be responsible for managing a finance team and engagement in local teams.

You will:

  • Manage finance planning and performance management team/activities and related financial decisions including strategic plan and annual contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, financial modeling and decision support for a country, country ISC or supporting a corporate FP&A process area.
  • Drive a strong controls and compliance environment at Mondelēz International. You will also ensure that policies are understood in the organization and that proper controls and compliance are in place.
  • Partner with the business providing critical financial perspective and insight for business strategies and decisions. You will also monitor and adjust execution of actions.
  • Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the Finance team.
  • Build a high-performing Finance team. You will also recruit and develop Finance talent and drive our Finance talent agenda with a focus on the region/business unit pipeline.

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in financial planning and performance management including analyzing, planning and reporting company financial performance across all financial KPIs and strategy development, investment decisions and cost management to achieve financial targets.
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business, consumer packaged goods industry, and snacking market including local customer/channel dynamics. Relevant experience in a large regional (or global) corporation.
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering, influencing and communication skills across a large regional (or global), public company; experience working as a finance leader managing cross-functional and business partner teams to make decisions and drive execution to deliver results.

The Director, Procurement Finance NA will be responsible for maximizing the value of Supply Chain regarding Raw and Packaging materials (Commodity Risk Management), coordinating market positions within Mondelēz risk strategy and ensuring visibility on market risks and opportunities.

  • Directing financial planning and reporting processes for Raw and pack materials, driving and controlling productivity programs to deliver cost savings for all North America Spend areas.
  • Leading financial assessments and analysis for Commodity Risk management, supporting the PNOC Regional and Global processes, and providing clarity for the Commodities and Forex hedge dynamic.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the control process creation, maintenance, and support, ensuring clarity on decision rights, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Liaising with the senior leadership team to lead the development, implementation, and achievements of sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Providing financial leadership, guidance and analysis for major Procurement Raw, Packaging and Commodity restructuring and optimization initiatives
  • Direct responsibility for the Mexico Hub's (Salinas and Monterrey) Raw and Pack materials cost scope E2E process, forecast and actual processes coordination, price controls maintenance for all materials consumed in the Mexico Hub, purchase prices variances analysis and control, balance sheet deferrals activities, and the control of productivity programs to deliver cost savings related to procurement for Mexico facilities.


Responsible for the financial relationship with our external manufacturers, identifying cost reduction opportunities, new ventures and exits while adhering to the financial requirements and ensuring compliance and adherence to the company’s policies.

  • Direct the External Manufacturing team to progress towards the ISC strategy, in line with both Global and Regional views, setting aspirational goals and tracking with KPIs/Scorecard, confirming the delivery of Productivity projects planned and the base business cost evolution, and communicating changes to latest plans
  • Direct the support requirements, ensuring clarity on decision rights, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Organize the Cost Card/BOM maintenance; pricing standard setting and controls, tune ups and monthly reports; AR/AP/Inventory clean up form EM's; Return/Write-off/ATD process  creation support.
  • Holding other corresponding stakeholders accountable for the ongoing execution regarding Price, Cost Card system update, Sales orders, and Inventory controls.
  • Liaising with the senior leadership team to lead the development, implementation, and achievements of sourcing strategies and plans.
  • Providing financial guidance and analysis for major External Manufacturing restructuring and optimization initiatives.
  • Driving and controlling the strategic programs to improve Cash Flow through payment terms extensions with suppliers, managing DPO planning and reporting, establishing and managing AWPT (average weight payment terms) per spend area.
  • Controlling Procurement Overheads costs and restructuring programs to manage overheads within targets.
  • Representing Finance in Procurement Leadership meetings and in Global Procurement Finance meetings, presenting ISC NA monthly procurement financial performance E2E to Senior Management and Global Procurement Leadership.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 12 or more years of finance experience
  • Prior Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience managing a team is required
  • Extremely systems savvy with exceptional Excel skills
  • Strong business acumen, experience with business analysis and financial reporting
  • High level of proven analytical ability to mine data, “connect the dots” and translate data into actionable steps to drive improved business performance
  • Ability to communicate analysis in a clear, succinct, and persuasive manner to all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Outstanding analytical mindset with a desire to find the hidden opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings
  • Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, and ability to lead informal teams
