Director of Total Rewards & People Operations

Remote (United States)

Reporting to our Chief People Officer, you will play a critical role, focusing on delivering operational excellence on a day-to-day basis and building a scalable, sustainable and efficient set of People programs and services. You will lead a broad scope of Total Rewards and People Operations activities. This includes compensation, benefits, internal payroll, policy management, compliance, all things people operations, people analytics and HRIS. You will be part of the People leadership team at Velocity Global, partnering with our Director People Business Partnering, Director Talent Acquisition and Director People Development. 


This is a great opportunity for someone independently proficient with compensation, is experienced with benefits and has the desire to integrate it with the full scope of people operations. This role will lead a globally distributed team of professionals across the world (US, Colombia, UK, Ireland, Romania, Malaysia, Philippines, Costa Rica). 


*Note this is an Americas time zone based, remote work position 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the development, implementation, and evolution of core programs in the employee lifecycle for seamless employee experience across benefits, onboarding and off boarding, including compliance practices and broader People policies
  • Direct our compensation programs and practices, including annual planning, market reviews, job architecture and our review processes
  • Provide operational and technology support and analyses for compensation, benefits, performance management, engagement, and recruiting
  • Evaluate and effectively manage relationships with benefit providers and HR technology vendors
  • Manage and optimize our overall People function spend
  • Lead our internal payroll team (already part of People Operations) 
  • Accountable for global People system data integrity, reporting and analytics
  • Recommend and implement innovative processes across the People organization, serving as project manager for all initiatives involving People Policies, People data, systems and implementation of platforms
  • Review and adapt the service delivery structure to meet business needs (ie – some programs delivered centrally and some through People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and People Development)
  • Manage employment practices, policies and record keeping including implementing adequate processes and audits, in compliance with recent employment law updates (ie - national/local laws, new hire notification requirements, labor laws, unemployment claims, records retention policies, etc)
  • Be the center of our cross-functional relationships with Finance, IT, Legal and other stakeholders to drive the effective delivery of People programs and services


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience in Business, Human Resources Management, Finance, or related field
  • Design and operational management experience in compensation, benefits, and HR systems
  • You can lead the implementation, communication and management of compensation and benefits programs
  • Financial acumen and experience using data-driven approaches to identify and implement program and policy decisions
  • Outcome-focused, non-bureaucratic, and collaborative leadership style (looking for someone who is informed, not constrained by the traditional definitions of the HR function)
  • Experience working in a global / multi-country environment and distributed workforce
  • Curiosity around new HR Operations and HR Technology trends and how those practices unlock growth and business success
  • High-energy style and a hands-on work ethic with a passion for managing the details within a growing business
  • Professional credibility that influences others and stimulates confidence across the organization
  • A humble, approachable style that encourages people in the organization to come for advice while balancing the best interests of the company and our employees
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively represent Velocity Global internally and externally
