LeafLink is looking for an experienced and highly-motivated Director of Strategic Finance to join our Finance team. They will report to the Vice President of Finance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and entrepreneurial-minded individual who has strong financial intuition and business acumen, and sharp focus on execution.


This role will lead strategic finance efforts at LeafLink, and will be responsible for helping drive profitable growth. In this role, the Director of Strategic Finance will drive high-impact strategic and operational initiatives, help evaluate strategic acquisitions and integrate them as the deals close, and be a key part of the process of raising capital from top venture and growth equity firms. This role requires the ability to seamlessly navigate between complex details and the big picture.


What You’ll be Doing

  • Proactively provide strategic thought leadership to the business while assessing complex financial and business decisions
  • Support the board and executive team on ad hoc strategy and financial analyses such as new product launches, pricing decisions, operational changes
  • Analyze large amounts of data and translate it into clear insights that can be used to run the business. Become an expert at the operational metrics and how they intersect with the financial metrics.
  • Perform financial and operational analyses across products, markets, and business segments to understand ROI, margins, opportunity costs, unit economics, and customer value creation. Drive the execution of efforts to optimize business performance based on this analysis
  • Support fundraising and investor relations activities, including the preparation of presentations for investors and lenders
  • Support due diligence for potential acquisition targets
  • Key point of contact for external consultants leading the integration of newly acquired businesses, which includes the identification of risks and opportunities, problem-solving, and acting as an advisor to internal teams
  • Oversee annual planning and forecasting activities


What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, and Business Administration
  • 10+ years of progressive strategic finance experience including at least 2 years at an Investment Bank or Management Consulting
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis, including the ability to make complex problems simple and understandable
  • Outstanding skills in preparing presentations for external use - obsessive about the quality of materials, visual appeal, and consistency of information
  • Extreme attention to detail with an innate drive to solve problems creatively
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, driven by a desire to grow the business - thinks and acts like an owner, self-starter attitude, most comfortable operating at a fast pace
  • Excellent financial modeling skills with the ability to synthesize complex operational and financial structures into structured frameworks
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Natural tendency to build relationships with people, supporting informal communication, trust, and ability to execute as a team
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Start-up and high-growth company experience is a plus but not required

Base salary range

$200,000—$245,000 USD
