Director of SMB Sales

Remote (United States)

As Director of SMB Sales, you will scale the team, processes, and strategy responsible for closing new business in Postscript’s largest customer segment. You will hire, coach and lead a team of Account Executives to become experts in ecommerce and SMS marketing. You will develop the sales playbook and execute a world class sales process. You’ll create and maintain a culture of high performance, accountability, and customer empathy. You’ll work cross-functionally with the GTM leadership team to meet our ambitious growth goals and continuously improve our GTM motion. Above all, you will be a key leader at Postscript and your efforts will directly impact our scaling efforts in 2021 and beyond.

All positions at Postscript are fully remote in North America.


Primary duties

  • Consistently and predictably achieve performance targets for the SMB account executive team. Actively manage pipelines and forecast future performance.
  • Build and lead a team of high-performing account executives. Provide ongoing mentorship & guidance. Develop plans for continued learning and future career growth.
  • Actively coach your team members. Participate in sales meetings to coach, improve win rates, support closing new business
  • Develop and implement a repeatable process and playbook for the SMB sales team.
  • Develop expertise in ecommerce, martech, SMS, and Postscript best practices. Coach your team to win with prospects and customers based on a nuanced approach within this context.
  • Build excellent sales infrastructure, including sales process, CRM design and analytics. Partner with Revenue Operations to design comp plans and set quotas for your team. Build a foundation that can support >$20M in smb revenue.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics for your team. Provide consistent, actionable reporting. Implementing data-driven sales management techniques to maintain a consistent and accurate sales forecast  
  • Serve as a key leader in the Sales organization and collaborate with other sales, marketing, and customer success leaders to continuously improve our GTM motion


What We’ll Love About You

  • 3+ prior years experience in sales leadership 
  • 5+ years as an Account Executive or sales manager 
  • Proven history of consistently meeting team performance targets
  • Experience managing in a high-growth, early stage company
  • Experience in e-commerce, marketing technology or related field
  • Experience selling to businesses with $1-$10M in revenue and $10-50K ACV
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, coach and nurture top talent
  • Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven, metrics-oriented mindset
  • Experience building sales infrastructure (sales process, CRM design, quotas, etc.)
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator
