JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Sales in our Data Capture department provides leadership and direction to a team of Field and Inside sales professionals in order to drive revenue growth and to achieve sales quotas. The Director of Sales is accountable for the Field and Inside Sales teams’ performance. This sales leader must be able to measure, monitor and hold teams accountable for their activities and results, as well as lead by example. This leader will be responsible for large account strategy, market segmentation, forecasting and pipeline development. In addition to supporting the success of Scantron’s existing trusted solutions, the Director of Sales partners with other key leaders in the division to bring new solutions to market. The position will actively manage a group of 5-6 direct reports in a highly dynamic market.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the Field and Inside sales team to meet/exceed assigned targets for sales and revenue other key financial performance objectives.
  • Reports on sales metrics and forecasts to senior sales management, demonstrating an ability to provide narrative overlays to key opportunities and trends
  • Delivers accurate forecasts that exemplify tight control of the top deals and instill discipline and rigor around pipeline management
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentorship, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
  • Refines best practices to guide day-to-day work product of sales team members including lead generation, lead development, discovery calls, proposal generation, contracting, data cleanliness in customer relationship management system and other related work.
  • Collaborates with other Sales leaders, Pre-Sales, Professional Training, and other cross-functional stakeholders to design and execute strategic initiatives, including launching new products
  • Establishes and maintains deep understanding of products and services in order to support team members and organizational outcomes


REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of sales leadership experience for companies in the data capture solutions, data intelligence or technology industries required. 
  • Experience working with distributor networks worldwide strongly preferred
  • Experience leading sales teams across a variety of industries, markets, and territories, as well as experience cultivating larger, strategic relationships required.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful revenue/quota attainment
  • Commitment to creating a data-rich culture and making data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communicator who quickly can navigate any situation to reach desired goals.
  • Track-record of collaborating with cross-functional partners to lead business transformation and growth, including demonstrated success in supporting the launch of new solutions.
  • Ability to form relationships, team-build, and work collaboratively with all departments​​​
