The Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue, negotiating partnerships, training & developing a high performing Sales team, creating & executing quarterly business plans, clearly communicating with retail partners and internal department heads.


By instilling trust, actively leading, and thinking strategically, the Director of Sales will build an effective team that is resilient and able to rebound in response to changing priorities. Through creative problem solving, skillful communication, and systemic thinking they will manage the complexity of driving the vision, purpose, and results for their team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

  • Oversee and lead state level sales systems & strategy.
  • Create quarterly business plan.
  • Drive sales, profit margin, and market share growth.
  • Negotiate pricing and strategic partnership agreements.
  • Hit Account Receivable targets.
  • Manage state level budget.
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) and Sales tools.
  • Ensure team adherence to the Wyld Sales Playbook
  • Sales Department Leadership
  • Travel 60% within the state, emphasis on being in the field with Sales, and have explicit market knowledge around compliance/regulations/sales/distribution, etc
  • Assist the Sales department with organizational skills, account strategies, quarterly market plans, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Train and develop the Sales team. Customize a development plan for each individual.
  • Create a workplace culture where people feel motivated and are excited to bring their best selves to work and commit to the organization’s objectives.
  • Drive accountability across the board ensuring ownership and execution of responsibilities by position within Sales.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks to success, be a creative problem solver.
  • Assist with the planning/execution of sales exhibits, trade shows, and industry events. 
  • Perform employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible for interviewing and assisting in hiring process.
  • Effective Communicator
  • Regularly interact with various departments within Wyld to establish performance, planning, strategy, development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Utilize internal communication systems as a method of communication for tracking real time performance and constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate and assist in leading sales meetings to include site selection, team engagement, and agenda preparation.
  • Prepare Sales on brand messaging and effective field level training execution.
  • Analyzes sales data, reporting, and market trends
  • Utilize dashboards, trackers, product and sales data identifying opportunities for growth, market trends, and Sales team behaviors which influence performance.
  • Be audible ready to discuss trends, data, goals and provide feedback on industry shifts.
  • Forecast and set monthly territory goals.
  • Stay up to date on new licenses, retail build-outs, existing licenses going through M&A and adequately communicating these trends to the sales and distribution team for future planning.
  • Keep informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in direct sales, sales operations, or related field, with proven experience in leading teams across diverse areas and locations
  • Cannabis or alcohol relevant CPG sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to tailor messaging to the audience
  • Strong budget management and sales forecasting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP and CRM software; Microsoft Business Central and Salesforce preferred.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to articulate verbally and written, willingness to appropriately debate difficult issues; ability to think quickly.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-growing/fast paced environment delivering accuracy while managing to deadlines where adaptability is imperative.
  • Ability to understand broader business issues, juggle multiple projects and tasks, and to work with deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must obtain state required Cannabis permits, licenses, and/or certifications.
  • Willing to submit to a background check, including a motor vehicle report.
  • Reliable transportation for daily in-person field activities
  • Travel Requirements: up to 60% travel between sites within state
  • Must be willing to receive authorized vaccination against COVID-19
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older.


Compensation:

As an exempt employee, you'll receive a competitive salary of $125,000/yr, 11 paid holidays, unlimited PTO, 401K, and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
