Director of Retail Stores

This position reports to the President-Retail and is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of District operations. Must be able to perform duties of all store personnel and ensuring all districts are operating efficiently, effectively, and fulfilling profitability standards set forth by the Company.


Major Responsibilities: include the following.

  • Ensures highest standard of customer service.
  • Training, developing, and evaluating District Managers is primary focus.
  • Field based position, requires 75% travel to stores in region.
  • Develop a network of qualified candidates to facilitate growth, expansion and re-placement.
  • Administer, monitor, and control profitability objectives within the region as set forth by corporate budgets, forecasts and goals, including but not limited to inventory turn and shortage control.
  • Communicates with the President of Retail, in addition to other Corporate Departments, on such issues as merchandise distribution/assortment, advertising, personnel, including review compensation, staffing training programs, Human Resources needs, etc.
  • Train and develop District Managers to enable them to complete their assigned tasks, and assist in furthering their career development.
  • Direct the stores, through the District Managers to achieve the compliance of store personnel with established Company policies, procedures, and standards such as the training of personnel and the safekeeping of corporate property (including inventory).
  • Consistently inspects stores to ensure the stores adherence to proper store layout, maintenance, and merchandise.
  • Ability to independently analyze store operations, on all levels, and recommend changes necessary to challenge company goals and objectives.
  • Assists in analyzing marketing potential of new store locations as well as the feasibility of continuing operation in an existing location, relaying the information to the President of Retail.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Special projects as needed

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7-9 years retail management experience.
  • 5-7years of multi store supervision.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proper telephone etiquette
