Director of Product Marketing

San Francisco, CA

As Chime’s Director of Product Marketing, Payments, you will be responsible for building and leading a product marketing team. You will oversee Chime’s Payments product marketing strategy, planning and execution of go-to-market plans. This leader will work closely with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Paid Acquisition, Lifecycle, Product, Design, Comms and more. The Director of Product Marketing, Payments will be responsible for high-impact go-to-market strategies ranging from top-of-funnel awareness campaigns down to lower-funnel conversion campaigns.


For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $200,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.


In this role, you can expect to
  • Build, lead and mentor a team of product marketers.
  • Define, manage, and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new and existing product initiatives including: audience definition, product positioning, comms architecture, and launch strategy.
  • Partner closely with our Insights, User Research and Product teams to understand our members needs and the broader competitive landscape.
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of go-to-market plans working closely with Product, Design, Paid Acquisition, Social, Content, Lifecycle, and PR.
  • Ensure alignment on product positioning and comms architecture across all channels including Marketing, Member Services, and Product.
  • Take a data-driven approach to campaign strategy focusing investments on the most impactful outcomes and critical metrics.

To thrive in this role, you have
  • BS/BA in Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years managing end-to-end product marketing at a tech, consumer finance or innovative, fast-paced consumer brand
  • Experience leveraging a suite of features and innovation to develop intra-product flywheels and an exciting cash to payments ‘ecosystem’ strategy
  • Ability to develop and implement processes to scale product marketing to succeed in a rapidly growing marketing and product organizations
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable reviewing and analyzing business performance metrics, and ability to adjust when necessary
  • Results-driven, with a passion for using data to build marketing campaigns that tackle business problems, advance our brand narrative, and resonate with our member base
  • Out-of-the-box thinker ready to get creative and take risks building a consumer brand from ground level
  • Highly effective communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams
