Director of Product Management

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to join our Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS) team and who'll focus on our Asset Management and the Media Information Model solutions. Our solutions provide users the ability to manage assets throughout the entire creative production process.  This will be the first cloud product available on Autodesk Flow, the industry cloud for Media & Entertainment!


This opportunity is for you if you're currently working on large scale & complex productions within Film, TV or Games industries and you possess hands-on experience and deep understanding of studio production pipeline processes. You also have working knowledge of how digital content creation tools, data flows, and related tooling all contribute to the final product. You are effective at representing the voice of our customers when devising and executing product strategies and roadmaps. Experience within a previous Product Manager role or similar is valuable but not required as training will be provided.


As Director of Product Management in Autodesk's EMS group, you will be at the forefront of defining, designing, and building the next generation of solutions and services for film, tv, and game-based workflows. You will meet with customers and our partners regularly to inform and validate our product strategy and roadmap. You will also lead and partner closely with internal teams to execute against our product strategy, ensuring we are prioritizing the workflows that will deliver the most impact to our customers.


Responsibilities

  • Leverage your film/tv/games production pipeline domain experience to define, champion and execute a holistic product vision for our Media Information Model and Asset Management
  • Be the customer-facing leader to learn and document what our customers need and how we can make them successful via our Media Information Model and Asset Management
  • Create and manage a product roadmap; clearly define and communicate priority workflows and enhancements and manage risks and dependencies
  • Translate problem statements and customer needs into story maps that will inform development priorities and plans
  • Work with a cross functional team made up of Product Owners, Scrum Masters, UX designers, developers and other key stakeholders to execute our product vision
  • Provide learnings from continuous customer discovery and validation that supports iterative development
  • Balance long-term vision and big picture thinking with guidance and support of work currently in flight
  • Work with your cross functional team and executive leadership to set expectations and manage risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership with leaders across multiple cross-product initiatives
  • Maintain current film/tv/games industry and competitive knowledge and knowledge of emerging technologies and trends
  • Engage customers and the industry through engagements such as customer councils, executive briefings, industry events, media support 


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Film/TV or Games production studio, working closely with various stakeholders such as technical directors, production managers and artists, etc. to drive projects from conception to delivery
  • Has an intimate understanding and point of view on customer problems related to the production pipeline and can effectively define solutions
  • Experience with USD in VFX, Animation, or Game pipelines, and be familiar with the concept of USD workflows
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams on sizeable productions and/or projects
  • Strong cross-team collaboration skills
  • Ability to take and analyze data from lots of sources and made hard trade-offs
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation abilities both with internally with executives and externally with customers
  • Able to take very complex ideas and convey them in a concise and impactful manner
