Director of Procurement Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance

Skillman, NJ

The Director of Procurement Environmental, Social, & Corporate Governance (ESG) is responsible for driving alignment between the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance strategy of Procurement and the New Consumer Health Company, globally. The scope spans a broad portfolio of direct and indirect categories, requiring strategic business and industry engagement to establish a sustainable and effective supply base for the company. The Director of Procurement, ESG will lead the development of a vision for world-class end-to-end procurement processes as it relates to ESG including, but not limited to, Category Management, Supplier Management, Sourcing, Contracting, Innovation, Talent Management, and Digital Strategy.  

 

The Director of Procurement, ESG will be accountable to shape and deliver a roadmap against a balanced value proposition including risk management, innovation, environmental, social, and corporate governance, and procurement process excellence. This roadmap will seek to increase supplier diversity, the use of sustainable materials, ingredient transparency, and decrease in Company’s carbon footprint. The leader must embrace agile ways of working and will be accountable to developing and recruiting world class talent. The Director of Procurement, ESG, will be a member of the Procurement Excellence Leadership Team and engage with Boards across the New Consumer Health Company. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop an inspirational functional vision and strategy to establish a world class ESG strategy and supply base that the New Consumer Health Company can leverage to create a competitive advantage 
  • Align procurement’s ESG strategies with the company strategy (Healthy Lives) and goals 
  • Coach and recruit world class talent 
  • Deliver ESG strategies to achieve elements of New Consumer Health’s Health Lives Mission 
  • Establish reporting infrastructure for internal and external reporting of ESG performance 
  • Advance financial policy and responsible supplier and procurement standards 
  • Support due diligence for the integration/disposition of acquired/divested assets 
  • Engage with executive leadership in key supplier relationships 
  • Cultivate a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion 
  • Benchmark industry best practices and continuously advance procurement capabilities 


Qualifications

Required Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required 
  • A minimum of 10 years of working experience in procurement, sustainability, or a related discipline is required 
  • Demonstrated leadership and deployment of best practices in ESG strategies is required 
  • Leadership, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills are required 
  • Experience in identifying and harnessing customer oriented innovative solutions is required 
  • Proven track record delivering against a balanced portfolio of key performance indicators (KPIs) is required 
  • Ability to influence and understand the diverse needs of stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain) is required 
  • People management experience and talent development is required 
  • Experience leading in a large, global organization is required 
  • Travel up to 10% domestic & international may be required 


Preferred Competencies: 

  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred 
  • Experience in the fast moving consumer goods industry preferred 
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through organizational transformation is preferred
