Director of Finance

New York, NY

Billie is looking for a Finance Leader to level up the financial planning and analysis function ahead of Billie’s next phase of growth. In this high impact role you’ll own forecasting, financial models, and reporting for Billie’s cross-functional teams to support strategic business goals. We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for a leader who is excited to jump-in.


What you’ll do:

  • Accountable for developing and maintaining the company’s financial model on both a long-range and short-range basis to enable effective decision-making around Billie’s business
  • Manage the planning and budget processes, working closely with departments to develop short- and long-range targets, while implementing methods of tracking and reporting on performance relative to plan on a rolling basis
  • Partner with the Accounting team to support finalizing, compiling, and analyzing month-end financial results for management reporting; drive the process of integrating actual results into the latest forecast
  • Partner with the Operations, Marketing, Product & Technology, and Data & Analytics teams to develop a granular understanding of the key customer, operational, and financial metrics to drive growth and margin improvement
  • Support strategic initiatives by working with stakeholders across the company to develop business cases, provide financial analysis, and drive the FP&A function as a proven center of thought partnership and analytical excellence
  • Provide accurate, precise, and timely reporting, while updating and modifying existing reports and analyses as needed
  • Drive process improvements in the areas of month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Build and develop a high-performing Finance team as the company continues to grow


What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in a finance function (preferably at a high-growth startup)
  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field preferred 
  • Proficiency with advanced modeling in Excel
  • Proficiency with business intelligence reporting platforms is a plus 
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities; you love getting into the details, figuring out how things work and understanding the associated financial implications via modeling
  • An in-depth understanding of financial statements and the connection of business inputs to outputs
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills; your strategic approach gets things done
  • A track record of effectively partnering with business owners to help drive decisions
  • A passion for the details and staying organization
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A hands-on self-starter who is comfortable with fast turnarounds and tight timelines
  • A proactive and collaborative approach – you love working with people and people love working with you
