We’re looking for a Director of Marketing Operations to help us ensure effective strategy, efficient investment, and accountability across the Hootsuite Marketing department. Reporting to the Vice President of GTM Strategy & Insights, you will provide strategic direction of marketing campaigns, managing marketing technology & systems, and optimizing marketing operations to achieve operational excellence. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement; a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite’s distributed workforce strategy), and in Hootsuite’s Vancouver or Toronto office, you will report to the Senior Director of Sales Operations. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Define the Marketing Operations strategy that enables intelligent decisions through precise analysis and lead the Marketing Operations team.
  • Manage reporting staff, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management and all other people-management practices, including DE&I.
  • Track and report on the entire marketing funnel including volume, velocity, conversion stage-to-stage, and average value; make sure funnel measures can be analyzed by key dimensions such as industry, geo, and persona.
  • Own lead scoring and routing to the sales team, and define the strategy for how we maximize lead yield, increase the productivity of our pipeline and demand generation activities, identify capability gaps, and maximize marketing-sourced revenue.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Marketing Automation team and the GTM Technology team, and set the strategic priorities, including program design and optimisation and operational process.
  • Partner with other GTM Strategy teams and Data Central to ensure the marketing department can correctly report on the ratio between customer lifetime value and customer acquisition cost, by marketing acquisition tactic. 
  • Regularly derive and inform stakeholders across marketing, sales, and finance of insights on marketing performance to ensure cross functional alignment on the best possible data-driven marketing strategy.
  • Own the marketing technology stack, continually evaluate current technology, and work proactively to identify opportunities for optimization and expansion. Consult with marketing teams to gather needs, and drive IT, procurement and biztech teams to achieve results. Direct negotiations with vendors as needed to ensure costs are managed and business interests are protected. 


What You’ll Need:

  • Typically 15+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Demonstrated experience operating B2B digital marketing and pipeline marketing programs in fast-paced digital environments, including hands-on expertise managing and using the tools and systems used in global marketing operations.
  • Strong functional knowledge of SaaS business models, with a proven ability to use data to analyze marketing funnels, and recommend small changes that result in large improvements.
  • Superior knowledge of the marketing technology landscape, and how various technologies and solutions fit together to accelerate marketing programs.
  • Comfort level with both SMB and Enterprise customer segments, and with both low-touch and high-touch customer marketing programs.

Canada Pay Range For This Role

$140,700—$197,100 CAD

US Pay Range For This Role

$153,800—$215,400 USD
